Scarletred cooperates with the Seestadt Apotheke to provide customers AI-based personalized skin care consultations and further education about preventing skin diseases, cancer, and ageing caused by exposure to UV rays.
Sunscreen is a crucial part of our daily skincare routine, and it plays an essential role in protecting our skin from the harmful effects of the sun's UV rays. The use of sunscreen has been proven to prevent the negative effects of prolonged sun exposure causing sun-induced skin damages, ranging from skin aging to the three types of skin cancer: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanoma. BCC is the most common form of skin cancer, followed by SCC which can be caused by Actinic keratosis, a precancerous skin lesion. Melanoma is the most dangerous and aggressive form of skin cancer with the highest mortality rate. In addition to preventing skin cancer, sunscreen also helps prevent premature ageing and other skin damages caused by sun exposure. UV rays can break down the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, leading to wrinkles and fine lines. Sunscreen is a vital tool in the prevention of sun-induced skin damage. It works by absorbing, reflecting, or scattering harmful UV radiation, thereby reducing the penetration of these rays into the skin. The two primary types of UV radiation are UVA and UVB, both of which contribute to skin damage. Broad-spectrum sunscreens provide protection against both UVA and UVB rays.
Scarletred has partnered with the Seestadt Apotheke to provide consultation services and promote the importance of sunscreen in preventing these sun-induced skin damages. Starting August 2024, you can claim your free skin analysis and consultation Tuesdays between 10-12 am and Thursdays from 2-4 pm or by appointment. The consultations provide the opportunity to discuss your skin concerns, analyze it via the AI-based software Scarletred®Vision, and receive personalized recommendations for skincare products, including your individual Sun Protection Factor (SPF). The emphasis lies on determining your individual phototype based on the results of the Individual Typology Angle (ITA°) measurement via Scarletred®Vision. The ITA° can classify skin tones and analyze changes in color accordingly, which makes it the ideal tool for personalized skin analysis. Furthermore, the medical device software can analyze over 3000 skin conditions, including Acne, Atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis, to document treatment success and disease progression.
By taking steps to protect your skin from the sun's harmful UV rays, you can help reduce your risk of developing skin cancer and keep your skin looking healthy for years to come.
